The origins of the pilgrimage site of Mariánské Radčice date back to the 13th century and are connected with the veneration of the miraculous image of Our Lady of Sorrows.
Pilgrimage Site and History
The foundation stone of the church was laid in 1698. Abbot Benedikt Littwerich had a new Baroque church, a cloister and a parish built for the pilgrimage site; his successor Hieronymus Besnecker completed them.
The Mariánské Radčice pilgrimage complex can be visited from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 15:00 or by prior arrangement.
Walking Tours and Cycling Connections
The Radčický okruh is a circular trail through the municipality and is equipped with information boards. It starts and ends in front of the local “U Davida” restaurant.
One station on the Radčický okruh provides information about the relocated small monuments in Mariánské Radčice and the surrounding area. Another information board covers the history of the Osek–Mariánské Radčice pilgrimage route. The final station provides information about the history and present of mining around Mariánské Radčice.
In Mariánské Radčice, cycle route 3073 is connected to cycle route 25 and ends after 6.32 km in Loučná, where it connects to cycle route 231.

Osek Monastery is located in the vicinity of Mariánské Radčice. The surrounding area also includes Stropnik Mountain, Vlčí hora Mountain, Bořeň Mountain [Bílina-Újezd] and Bouřňák Mountain.

Mining History
The former Důl Koh-i-noor II brown coal mine near Mariánské Radčice operated until 2002 and extracted more than 52 million tonnes of brown coal. Parts of the operating buildings of Důl Koh-i-noor II have been protected as monuments since 2002.
