Janoušov lies on the southern edge of the Hrubý les; the northern part of its municipal territory extends above 700 m in elevation. The Janoušovský okruh connects this landscape with an approximately 9.5 km long, blue-marked hiking route along which several information boards and trail signs are located.

At its highest point, the Janoušovský okruh reaches 845 m and offers views of the Jeseníky Mountains. Most of the route runs along forest paths; shorter sections lead over asphalt and partly over field roads. The route is considered suitable for families with children. A green-marked hiking trail also passes through Janoušov.

Chapels and Village Character

Janoušov is home to a chapel dedicated to Saint Anne. It dates from 1882. A wooden chapel was built in 2015–2016 and blessed on 24 July by the Bishop of Olomouc, Mons. Josef Hrdlička. Inside is a large wooden crucifix with the body of the Crucified Christ; a small bell tower topped with a cross sits on its roof.

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Janoušov was declared a cultural monument by a decision dated 15 February 2012. Traditional domestic industries included the production of brushes and rakes, weaving baskets from willow branches, tying birch brooms, and sewing on thread buttons. Several traditional timbered residential houses have also been preserved in Janoušov. A wooden statue depicts the presumed founder or locator of the settlement.

Remembrance and History

The memorial to the world wars stands on a slope near the municipal office. It consists of a polished granite stele with plaques bearing the names of those killed and missing in the First and Second World Wars; it was unveiled in 1921. The cross with the Sorrowful Mother dates from the first half of the 19th century and combines Neoclassical forms with continuing Baroque design elements.
