Accommodation in Metylovice
The stone Church of All Saints in Metylovice is protected as a cultural monument. It was built in 1577 on the site of an earlier wooden church in the Gothic style and later altered in the Baroque style. In 1653, it was consecrated by Bishop Gobbár of Olomouc.
Culture and History
The municipal museum “Kožane město” was opened on 7 August 2010 in the premises of a former strap workshop. In the past, the whip from Metylovice was known throughout the region and beyond the present-day borders of the Czech Republic, and it also became known overseas. “Dřevoryt Cyrila a Metoděje” is a wood relief by the renowned woodcarver Boris Zvada.
Mountains and Trails
Mount Skalka is located in the vicinity of Metylovice. Mount Ostrá is also located in the vicinity of Metylovice. Mount Kyčera is likewise located near Metylovice. Mount Kykulka is also situated in this area.
Čupek is a popular pilgrimage site; the traditional pilgrimage takes place there on 5 July, the feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius. The summit of Čupek can be reached on foot, by bicycle, by kick scooter, and with a stroller.
The Metylovice–Ondřejník route runs from Čupek via “Metylovice, kostel” to Ondřejník and Skalka. It is considered moderately difficult and is also considered suitable for pedestrians, cyclists, and children. The route can be started at the “Metylovice, kostel” bus stop.
