Landscape
Mřičná lies in the picturesque foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains in the valley of the Olšina stream. The Olšina stream flows through Mřičná and joins the Jizera in Peřimov. The green-and-yellow circular trail leads to the Večerníček swing and offers views of the Krkonoše Mountains.
Trails and Nature
The educational trails in Mřičná are accessible on foot, by bicycle and with a pram. They are equipped with benches, play elements, and educational and discovery quizzes. The red educational trail offers views of Mřičná and the Krkonoše Mountains from the upper edge of the village. At the same time, it conveys the history of the municipality, significant events, buildings, personalities, associations and sights of the Krkonoše Mountains.
The yellow educational trail leads behind the swimming pool towards Strážník and provides information about domestic and wild animals, insects, birds, fish and amphibians. The green educational trail leads towards Delišov and Strážník and provides information about plants, fruits, herbs, trees, crops and minerals. The blue educational trail leads through the forest towards the airfield and provides information about natural phenomena and natural features.
Culture and History
The Church of Saint Catherine in Mřičná was built in 1716; its tower was completed in 1787 with an ornate dome and lantern. Its tower contains a bell cast in 1484 for the church in Mřičná. A concert is held in the Church of Saint Catherine every autumn. A statue of Saint Wenceslas stands in the centre of Mřičná and was consecrated in 1909. The Smiřično fortification site from the 14th century in Mřičná is an archaeological site.
Leisure and Refreshments
The swimming pool grounds in Mřičná include a freely accessible multi-purpose sports court. The grounds feature fitness equipment, a workout area, a climbing structure for children and air trampolines. Hospoda Buranka is open at weekends and offers simple but honest home cooking, chilled Plzeň and Radegast beer, and homemade lemonades.
