Landscape and Nature
Benešov u Semil lies on the southern slope of Benešovský vrch. From there, there are beautiful views of the Krkonoš ridges as well as Ještěd, Tábor, Kozákov, and Kumburk. At the weir on the Jizera, a fish pass allows fish to migrate in both directions.
Townscape and Events
The suspension bridge over the Jizera is a construction in a modern Alpine style and, in this form, is considered unique not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe. At the same time, it is the only place in the municipality where one can reach the opposite bank without getting one’s feet wet. Several attractive traditional log cabins have been preserved in the upper centre of Benešov u Semil. An open-air cinema is also held in Benešov u Semil every year.
