Accommodation in Prague-West District
In the Prague-West District destination, Průhonice Park is a Czech national cultural monument and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It offers visitors 25 km of paths and combines landscapes, historic views and ponds.
Nature and Culture
The park can be explored with a paper map or the SmartGuide app; guided tours can be booked. The Way of the Cross at Skalka comprises 14 chapels and is freely accessible year-round.
History
Skalka became a pilgrimage site after 1762 and a tourist destination from the late 19th century onwards. Weddings, exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events take place in the Skalka Baroque complex.
Mníšek pod Brdy Chateau presents representative salons from the First Republic. A second tour leads through private aristocratic rooms and the everyday life of the nobility. The chateau tours also include roof structures and towers with views. The chateau park features lavender, flowers and fountains.
Gastronomy
An open brewing room is located on the ground floor of the Pivovar Kytín restaurant. Pivovar Řevnice is located directly next to Řevnice railway station and serves traditional Czech cuisine. Řevnická 10° and Řevnická 12° are brewed there. The brewery experiences on offer include a day with the brewer and a home-brewing course.
Pivovar Řevnice is housed in a former railway building that was converted into a brewery. The former waiting room is used as a pub with classic railway benches.
Paths and Landscape
The Svatojánské proudy nature trail begins in Štěchovice and runs for 9 km along the wooded banks of the Vltava to Třebenice. An easy circular route around Jílové follows part of the Jílovské vyhlídky nature trail.
A hiking route from Řevnice to Skalka passes the Lesní divadlo through deciduous woodland and allows for a detour to Babka. The Řevnice–Skalka route offers views over the surrounding Brdy forests.
