Davle: Hotels and Accommodations

In the immediate vicinity of Davle are Holý vrch [Okrouhlo], Chlumík [Vrané nad Vltavou], and Babka [Hvozdnice] – each of which is a hill. In the wider region around Davle there are also Doutnáč, a mountain, as well as Karlštejn, a castle, Palác Kinských and The Golz-Kinsky Palace, each a palace, and Galerie Rudolfinum, a museum.

Culture and History

The protected ensemble of St. Kilian's Church comprises the church, the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre, the bell tower, the perimeter wall of the former cemetery, the rectory, and the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk.

The Vltavan association clubhouse and museum are located in the Vltavanka building at K Pivovaru 3 in Davle. The Vltavan Museum commemorates the history of rafting on the Vltava. In summer, it is open to the public every Friday from May to September, from 3 to 6 p.m. A raft built using traditional methods is displayed in the park on Školní Street below the football pitch in Davle.

The Benedictine monastery on Ostrov near the confluence of the Sázava and Vltava rivers was established around the turn of the 10th and 11th centuries. A Romanesque basilica was built on Ostrov by the end of the 12th century.

Educational Trails and Paths

The “Naučná stezka Střed Čech” educational trail begins in a park in Davle and leads through the town center. For the return journey, it offers an alternative route with a view of the geometric center of the Czech Republic from the summit of Ďábel hill.

The Sekanka educational trail connects the Benedictine monastery on Ostrov with the abandoned medieval settlement of Sekanka and features ten information panels. The final information panel stands at St. Kilian's Church.

The route through the valley of the Zahořanský potok begins at the railway station in Davle and is also suitable for cyclists.
