Nature
Alej svobody leads from Vestecký rybník towards Hrnčíře, following an old field track. It is also part of the yellow-marked KČT hiking trail between Kunratice and Průhonice. The avenue is lined with fruit trees of old Czech varieties; at its beginning there is also a flower meadow, wooden footbridges and seating.
Alej prince Philipa is an avenue of 100 lime trees along the cycle path towards Kunratice, near the retention basin. In October 2022, a Poesiomat was unveiled there; it recites poems, sings and shares interesting facts about Vestec.
The Dendrologická stezka Vestec, introduced in 2024, leads through various parts of the municipality. It presents 15 trees; descriptions of their significance and uses are available via QR code.
Culture
Vestec was first mentioned in writing around 1360, at that time under the name “villa Beska”, in connection with the royal castle of Kostelec n/Sázavou, to whose domain the settlement belonged.
From 1700, Vestecký rybník, together with the municipality, belonged to the Dolní Břežany estate, which was administered by the Prague Archbishopric. The pilgrimage tradition in Vestec continues in a changed form. Nearby stands a stone monument, a bell tower dating from 1831.
Public Facilities
The TJ Viktoria Vestec Sports Centre is open to the public and, by arrangement, can be made available at specific times for educational, sporting, social and commercial activities. The Vestec Community Garden is open to the general public every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on regular open days; a traditional sale of farm products takes place during this time.
