Krňany: Hotels and Accommodations

Krňany is located near the confluence of the Vltava and Sázava rivers. Here, the rivers have shaped a dramatic local landscape with steeply incised rocky banks. The municipality comprises the smaller cadastral areas of Krňany, Třebsín, and Teletín; its territory is part of the Střed Čech Nature Park.

Landscape

The Kobylí dráha Nature Reserve extends partly into the territory of the municipality of Krňany. It has the character of a gorge-like slope and is rich in many thermophilic plant species.

Trails and Viewpoints

Třebsín, a part of the municipality of Krňany, is a hub of the Posázavská stezka and of touristically attractive routes in the central Vltava region. From Třebsín, a yellow-marked hiking trail leads to the Smetanova vyhlídka viewpoint. The viewpoint near Třebsín is named after Bedřich Smetana, who held this place in high regard. It lies above the Štěchovice Reservoir; from there, you can look across to the opposite bank with the Ztracená naděje tramp settlement.

Culture and Local History

Old loggers' routes are still visible in Krňany and are protected as monuments. In Teletín, the listed chapel houses a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. Třebsín has a chapel with a small belfry that has been protected as a monument since May 3, 1958, and probably dates from the second half of the 18th century.

The history of strawberry cultivation is also part of the area's local history: In 1912, Rudolf Strimpl, manager of the Chlistov farm in Teletín, brought planting material for field strawberries from the United States to the Krňansko area. Strawberry cultivation developed there as a result.

Event

Třebsínské zvonění was announced for July 5, 2025, as a traditional music festival for the whole family on the meadows above Třebsín.
