Prats i Sansor as a starting point
You can reach Prats i Sansor via the LP-40332 road between Bellver and Alp. For planning purposes, you can consider the journey separately from the walking routes that follow.
TC269 between two municipalities
The easy circular hike TC269 connects the municipalities of Prats i Sansor and Urús; Prats i Sansor is intended as the starting and ending municipality. The circular nature therefore lies in returning to the municipality of Prats i Sansor, while Urús forms part of the route as the connected municipality.
From the LP-4033b to Sant Salvador de Predanies
You can reach Sant Salvador de Predanies via the local LP-4033b road. Shortly before Prats, a turning on the right leads to the cemetery. The vehicle can be parked there; from there, continue on foot along a path to the hermitage. For your visit, therefore, plan a section by vehicle followed by the walk to Sant Salvador de Predanies.
Viewpoint and architectural form of the hermitage
The hermitage of Sant Salvador de Predanies is located at a viewpoint from which you can overlook the entire valley. Sant Salvador de Predanies is a small building with simple architecture, a single nave and an undecorated semicircular apse. The view over the valley and the restrained architectural form give the destination two clearly distinct aspects.
Capdevila and Sant Serni de Prats
The parish church of Sant Serni de Prats is located in the Capdevila district, the oldest settlement core of Prats. Two baptismal fonts are located outside Sant Serni de Prats. Anyone wishing to connect the oldest part of the settlement with a religious building will find a clear spatial association here: Capdevila is the district of the parish church, and the baptismal fonts are outside Sant Serni de Prats.
The fortification of Capdevila
Capdevila, the oldest settlement core of Prats, was fortified and appears to have contained the village's castle or fortress. The castle or fortress guarded the passage at Coll de Saig, across which the route to Bellver leads.
Castell de Prats in 1233
The earliest mention of Castell de Prats appears to date from 1233. At that time, it was stipulated that the fortress or fortification of Prats should remain forever in the hands of Nunó Sanç and his descendants. This arrangement was subject to the condition that Nunó Sanç and his descendants could neither alter nor improve the fortress or fortification.
Montlleó at Coll de Saig
The Montlleó open-air archaeological site is located at Coll de Saig in the municipality of Prats i Sansor (Cerdanya, Lleida). Montlleó complements Prats's historical sites with an archaeological location whose position is clearly identified.
Font de Prats and Aplec de Sant Salvador
Old livestock watering troughs are located beside Font de Prats. The Aplec de Sant Salvador is associated with 6 August.
