Landscape

Lladorre lies amid the extensive area of the Parc Natural de l’Alt Pirineu, the largest nature park in Catalonia. Culture

The church of Sant Martí in Lladorre has been documented since the 11th or 12th century. Opposite the village of Lladorre, on the right bank of the river, lie the ruins of Lladorre Castle; they probably date from the second half of the 11th century. On the old country road, or Camí de França, the Pont de Borito bridge crosses the Lladorre River, which is also known as the Noguera de Cardós. It is a single-arch bridge made of irregular slate, resting directly on the rock of both banks close to the water, and dates from the 12th or 13th century. A few metres north of Lladorre, La Mola lies along the old road; the traditional grain mill probably dates from the 18th century. The single-nave church of Santa Eulàlia dates from the 12th century and has a wooden-beam structure and a portal with wedge-shaped stones and a round arch.

Hiking Trails

The Ruta de senderisme de Lladorre a Boldís Jussà follows an old mountain path with a pronounced ascent along the shaded valley slope, passes through cool forests and runs along clearly recognisable paths in some sections. It connects Lladorre with Boldís Jussà. The Ruta dels ponts medievals de la Vall de Cardós is designed differently: it is not a circular route but an approximately three-hour, largely level hiking trail of great scenic and architectural interest. It can be started in Lladorre or Ribera de Cardós; the route is considered suitable for families.
