Nature

The Mirador del Telefèric offers a general view of the valley. From the Mirador de Cap Deig, you can see the Cingles de Vallcebre and the surrounding woodland and agricultural landscape up close.

At Espai Actiu Vallcebre, three via ferratas make up a regulated municipal facility. Canyoning in the Torrent del Forat Negre is also a municipally regulated activity there. Escola d'Escalada l'Empalomar is a climbing area particularly suited to beginners, with regulated access; specialised guides and rental equipment can be booked there in advance.

Geology

In the centre of Vallcebre is Espai Geologia Vallcebre, an open-air geological exhibition. Passeig pel Temps is an 80-metre-long footpath illustrating the last 520 million years of Earth's history.

The Centre de Geologia de Vallcebre is located in Parc dels Roures and is also an open-air geological exhibition. It includes a time walk covering the development of life and the rock formations of the natural park over the past 530 million years. A geological trail starts in Vallcebre and heads towards Coll de Pradell and Fumanya, with several stops along the way.

Camins de Vallcebre provides georeferenced information on the main routes in the municipality, including Els Cingles de Vallcebre, Volta a Coll de Pradell, Ruta Minera a Coll de Pradell, Volta al Grauet, Volta a la Llacuna and CamĂ Aeri de l'Artic. The free Camins de Vallcebre app for Android and iPhone is aimed at visitors who want to hike routes, go for walks, take part in activities, visit attractions or use services, shops and businesses in Vallcebre. The different route lengths and themes can be compared side by side for personal planning.

History

The circular route “Pels cingles de Vallcebre” passes through several historic “graus”, meaning steep access paths that for centuries were the only way to reach or leave Vallcebre. The Coll de Pradell mines have been partially restored and made accessible via a walking route of just over one hour.

The Trenet Miner de Coll de Pradell includes a rehabilitated former railway track section leading to an old mine. The Fumanya fossil site area extends across the municipalities of Vallcebre and FĂgols. The Fumanya sites include more than 3,500 dinosaur footprints, as well as significant fossil remains, including dinosaur eggs and the remains of plants and animals.

Culture

The Aplec de Santa Magdalena is an annual pilgrimage on foot to a hermitage, followed there by a short Mass and a communal breakfast. The Mercat d'Artesans de Vallcebre has been held since 2006 on the Sunday closest to 12 October and includes stalls run by local, regional and national craftspeople, as well as activities and workshops on traditional crafts.
