Nature and trails
The Municipality of Tržič takes care of the maintenance and upkeep of the Rožnovenska pot thematic trail. An educational trail with scenic views through the Dovžanova soteska provides interesting information about its rocks and fossils on information boards.
The Dovžanova soteska is protected as a natural monument and is home to a unique fossil site from the Late Paleozoic.
The Stegovniški Waterfall is approximately 15 metres high and can also be reached by mountain bike. In the centre of Žiganja vas stands a village linden tree more than 500 years old, which is a natural asset of national importance.

Culture and history
The old town of Tržič is fully protected as a cultural monument. Tržič is also home to the Germovka forge, the city’s best-preserved blacksmith’s workshop.
The Tržiški muzej presents the local shoemaking craft, leather production, traditional Tržiški-Vişnje stockings, blue-dyed textile production and the skiing tradition. The Slovenian Ski Museum traces the development of skiing from its early beginnings as a means of transport to its development into a modern sport.
The Ljubelj Concentration Camp Museum has a permanent exhibition in a former military barracks. The Dr Tone Pretnar Memorial Room is dedicated to the work of the translator whose demanding translations introduced numerous foreign authors to Slovenian readers.
The Tekec Nativity Scene is an example of Slovenian folk and religious culture. Kurnik House combines rural and small-town architecture from the 18th, 19th and first half of the 20th centuries.
Events and excursions
MYCONOCTIS offers a night-time excursion along a mysterious mushroom trail in the heart of the Karawanks. Šuštarska nedelja takes place on the first Sunday in September and developed from the markets of Tržič.
The visitor experience at Neuhaus Castle includes a herb garden and a tea party.

Tržič can be reached by car from the Podtabor motorway junction in less than ten minutes.
