Poriadie: Accommodation, Trails and Monuments

Poriadie lies on the low slopes of the Myjava Hills. Part of the village is situated on the southwestern foothills of the White Carpathians below the Javorina Massif. A defining feature is the distinctly scattered settlement pattern typical of the Kopaničiarske settlement form. As a result, Poriadie does not appear as a densely enclosed village structure, but rather as a widely dispersed settlement landscape in hilly terrain.

Landscape

The routes described include the Poriadie–Rudník educational trail and the path to the monument in Krivosudy. The Poriadie–Rudník educational trail follows existing paved roads and forest paths. It has three stations with information boards and is 2.284 kilometres long. From Poriadie, there is also an easy, approximately 3-kilometre path marked in green leading to the monument in Krivosudy.

A longer connection is formed by the green-marked hiking trail No. 5116. It runs for 10.3 kilometres from Poriadie railway station via Zemlianky, the SNP Monument and Prídolie to the Dibrovov Monument on the Czech border. At the Dibrovov Monument, this green-marked trail intersects with the long-distance Cesta hrdinov SNP trail.

History

A partisan group was encamped in October 1944 in the Krivosudy area of Poriadie. The partisan site includes the Zbojníčka spring and earth bunkers that the partisans built there. The bunkers in Krivosudy are preserved and equipped with simple wooden bunks that served as beds.

The Dibrovov Monument stands on the ridge of the White Carpathians. Another memorial site is the U Klasovitých Monument. It commemorates the last battle of the first campaign of the insurgent army of the Slovak Revolution in 1848. The U Klasovitých memorial complex was ceremonially unveiled in 1968. The approach to the monument leads along a stepped path lined with a row of trees.

Local Life

The events calendar is also part of Poriadie’s public profile. Jarný slnovrat is a traditional pre-Easter event held at the Poriadie Cultural Centre. The public goulash-cooking competition was held in 2024 as its 8th edition, in 2025 as its 9th edition and in 2026 as its 10th edition.

Getting Around

There is an intelligent bicycle shelter in the centre of Poriadie. It has a charger for six electric bicycles and includes a touchscreen information panel through which visitors can access interesting information.

For rail travel, the railway line running through Poriadie is a historic part of the village: it was built and put into operation in 1930. Poriadie has a railway station bearing the name of the municipality.
