The Šútovo Waterfall is 38 metres high and the highest waterfall in the Malá Fatra. In the Gader Valley, the first 8 kilometres from Blatnica to the junction with the Dedošova Valley run along a well-preserved asphalt road suitable for road bikes and scooters. The same valley is home to the Čertova brána rock formation and Mlynčekovo, where there are numerous small water mills in various shapes and designs.

Culture
Yetiland is located in the Valča Valley, a family park with dozens of attractions for children, such as trampolines, inflatable castles, slides and rope obstacles; in summer, it also features a water park.
The Andrej Kmeť Museum is housed in the first building of the Slovak National Museum. The museum asks larger groups to reserve their visit in advance; booked groups are given priority over unbooked visitors at admission and during guided tours.
The Turiec Gallery is housed in the former county house on Námestie SNP in Martin, which was built in 1740. It presents a permanent exhibition of 20th-century Slovak art featuring works by personalities connected with the Turiec region. The permanent exhibition also includes a section on Mikuláš Galanda’s painting, graphic art and applied art.
The National Cemetery of Martin is designated as a national cultural monument. The Museum of the Slovak Village in Martin is Slovakia’s largest open-air ethnographic museum. It comprises 129 residential, agricultural, technical, social and religious structures; some interiors are open to visitors.
Since 1991, the Museum of the Slovak Village has hosted programme events as part of the Ethnographic Year, featuring demonstrations of traditional production, crafts, customs and folklore.
Sklabiňa Castle was the seat of the counts of Turiec County for 450 years and is open year-round for an admission fee. Zniev Castle is considered the oldest known castle in the Turiec region and is located at an altitude of 985 metres.
Nature
Bukovina Mountain is located in the immediate vicinity of the Martin District. Kalužná Mountain, the ruins of Starý Hrad, Trebostovský Kopec Mountain and Veľká Lúka Mountain are located in the surrounding area of the Martin District. Further afield in the wider region around the Martin District are the ruins of Zniev and Likava.
The cycling route across Martinské hole connects Vrútky and Martin over a distance of 22 kilometres. It leads to Chata na Martinských holiach mountain hut at an altitude of 1,250 metres, which offers snacks and refreshments.
