Bartošova Lehôtka between Nature and Cultural Heritage

Bartošova Lehôtka is characterized by a predominantly forested, hilly and gently undulating landscape. Rhyolite forms the bedrock in the municipality; andesite occurs in the eastern part. The Kremnica Mountains, and therefore the entire municipality, are of volcanic origin and consist of andesite, rhyolite and bentonite clay.

Nature

Jastrabská skala can be reached from Bartošova Lehôtka via a yellow-marked hiking trail. The ascent takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Jazierko Slobodné can also be reached from Bartošova Lehôtka. A signpost at the Stations of the Cross points the way. At Jazierko Slobodné, there is a fire pit and a shelter with benches and a table.

Culture

The farmhouse of Ján Baláž in Bartošova Lehôtka, managed by the National Trust n.o. and listed as a national cultural monument, houses a mini-exhibition about the construction and maintenance of thatched roofs. Individual visitors, organized groups and school groups are welcome. The folk farmhouse in Bartošova Lehôtka serves as a living exhibition of traditional folk architecture and as an illustrative example of education in the field of cultural heritage; short-term accommodation is also available.

The preserved farmhouse of the Baláž family belongs to the upper Tekov type of folk architecture and is the last house with a thatched roof in Bartošova Lehôtka. Thus, both the construction and preservation of traditional rural architecture are central to this site.

The Church of St. John of Nepomuk in Bartošova Lehôtka is a Baroque church built on older Gothic foundations dating from the 15th century. A 17th-century fortification wall with rectangular loopholes runs around the church. Bartošova Lehôtka is also home to a late Baroque stone statue of St. John of Nepomuk dating from 1783. Following a reconstruction, the statue was relocated; it is currently situated next to a bridge on the main road in Bartošova Lehôtka.
