Strada della Forra: Cycling and Walking

If you would like to experience the Strada della Forra actively, you can cycle or walk along it. From the first tunnel, a footpath follows the old road.

Forest Trails at Passo Nota

The Sentiero Muravalle is marked with number 167. It branches off from the paved road between Vesio di Tremosine and Passo Nota and leads directly into the forest.

After about two hours of walking and 500 metres of elevation gain, the further course of the Sentiero Muravalle reaches the Rifugio Alpini di Vesio near Passo Nota, at 1,208 metres above sea level, over terrain that is largely level.

Valle di Bondo and the Trail to Tremalzo

Valle di Bondo has been a nature reserve since 1980 and is of particular natural-historical interest.

The trail system of Valle di Bondo enables experienced cyclists and hikers to reach Tremalzo via a challenging gravel road.

Formagella di Tremosine sul Garda

The Formagella di Tremosine sul Garda is part of the region’s distinctive character. It is produced on the plateau of Tremosine sul Garda, in the heart of the park, where grey Alpine cows graze freely.

Historic Places and Churches

In the historic centre of Borgo di Tremosine stand residential buildings of historic and artistic significance. Distinctive details include magnificent round-arched portals with rusticated ashlar and elegant openings framed in stone. Those walking through the centre will therefore find architectural details that go beyond purely utilitarian buildings.

The Church of San Bartolomeo in Tremosine was built in the mid-18th century. It has richly decorated interior furnishings, complemented by an elaborate liturgical arrangement. The parish church of San Giovanni Battista, on the other hand, is a late-17th-century building erected over Romanesque structural remains from the 12th century. Its bell tower preserves the still-visible trace of the Romanesque predecessor buildings from the 12th century.

MUST: History in Seven Rooms

The MUST presents the history of Tremosine sul Garda, its territory and the events of the war across seven rooms. The seasonal opening period runs from 1 July to 15 September; opening hours are Friday to Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Eremo di San Michele and Historic Trails

The present-day building of the Eremo di San Michele dates from the 13th century. Its exterior walls show traces of an earlier early-medieval structure.

The Eremo di San Michele lies at the intersection of paths that historically connected Tremosine and Tignale with the Giudicarie Valleys.

Terrazza del Brivido and Campione

The Terrazza del Brivido hangs more than 350 metres above the abyss. It was built between the 1950s and 1960s at the Hotel Paradiso.

In Campione, kitesurfing is the sport that attracts the greatest public interest.
