Getting to Lozio and Its Connection to Malegno

The Trecciolino is a forest path that leads through the Lat area and runs as far as the former Puit quarry. The canal was built at the end of the 1950s and passes through large parts of the municipality of Lozio, from Villa via Sommaprada to Laveno. When choosing between the two landscape features, the difference between a forest path and a canal route is immediately relevant.
Al Cudinì and the Nobili Castle Between the Valleys
Al Cudinì is a limestone cave in the Concarena at the foot of Contramagna. It was formerly used by farmers as a place of shelter and overnight accommodation. The remains of the Nobili Castle stand on a steep ridge between the two valleys: Doss to the east and Re to the west.
Put del Fer Bridge and Parish Church in Villa
In the Località Segheria, after the hamlet of Villa, are the remains of the Put del Fer Bridge. Until the 1960s, the bridge was also passable for small carts. Its horseshoe shape gave it the name Put del Fer. Villa is also home to the parish church of Santi Pietro e Paolo. It dates back to a small church that already existed in the 14th century. The most significant rebuilding of the parish church took place between 1602 and 1604. The church also contains frescoes by Antonio Guadagnini dating from 1884 to 1894.
