Winter Access and Lift Area
For winter planning, Cherz has a clear connection to the mountains and the lift area. Cherz 1 is a four-seater chairlift in the Arabba lift area. In winter, the Cherz Plateau can be reached from Passo di Campolongo on snowshoes or touring skis. When preparing a tour, this choice mainly determines which equipment needs to be available for the route to the plateau.

The CAI hiking route also connects the Cherz Plateau with Arabba. The route leads uphill through a forest to the plateau and returns to Arabba along a stretch from Rifugio Cherz. For personal day planning, this results in a route with an ascent through the forest, the plateau as an intermediate area and a return towards Arabba.
Hiking Trails across the Plateau and Pastures
The “Path of the Hunter” circular hiking trail is moderately difficult, takes 4–5 hours and leads through the high-altitude passes of Cherz. The “Path of the Hunter” follows an unpaved road to Cherz, passing the mountain dairy of the same name, and then continues across pastures with views of the small hamlets of Cherz and Masarei. The duration of 4–5 hours should be taken into account when planning the day, as should the moderate difficulty of the loop and its route through high-altitude passes.
Several circular trails continue from the Cherz Plateau. On the plateau, the meadows invite visitors to relax at altitude. The trails and open meadows give a stay in Cherz different forms: on the “Path of the Hunter”, the high-altitude passes, pastures and views of Cherz and Masarei are the focus, while the CAI route follows the connection between the plateau and Arabba.
MTB Tour and Dairy in Renaz
For mountain biking, the Pralongià MTB tour is a separate option. The tour leads uphill from Renaz to the hamlet of Cherz and then continues along a gravel road to Passo Incisa. For day planning, the ascent from Renaz to Cherz and the subsequent gravel road mark two successive sections to Passo Incisa.
A craft dairy is located in the hamlet of Renaz along the Pralongià MTB route and is suitable for a visit and tasting its cheeses. The tasting can be included as a separate item on the cycling tour itinerary.
Church and Cheese Varieties
The small church in Cherz is dedicated to the Holy Cross, Santa Croce in Italian.
The Latteria di Livinallongo also provides a specific connection to regional cheese production. In addition to the Renaz, Fodom and Contrin cheeses, the Latteria di Livinallongo produces Cherz cheese as well as fresh and aged ricotta.
