Blauenthal between Waterfall, Hammer Manor House and the Karlovy Vary Route

Blauenthal developed from a hammer mill founded by Andreas Blau in 1535. The place is regarded as Saxony’s first tinplate mill and the first place in the Ore Mountains where tinplate was produced. As a result, Blauenthal combines a clearly recognizable industrial history with a landscape shaped by waterways, granite and mountain ranges.

History and Culture

The Hammer Manor House has been preserved: a two-storey Baroque manor house with a clock tower and Baroque dome. The main portal bears the year 1677.
