The Sentier du Quermoz leads to the 2,296-metre-high summit of Quermoz, which offers a 360-degree panorama. In Hautecour, the “Les Éphémères Alpines” art trail is an open-air gallery with nearly 70 works of art; its route leads from the town hall through the Hautecour forest to the hamlet of Le Villard and then to the hamlet of Le Breuil.

Geographical setting
The five hamlets of Hautecour – La Basse, Grégny, Le Breuil, Le Villard and Pradier – are located between 900 and 1,300 metres above sea level. The old houses preserve a typical local architectural style in which stone and wood are used preferentially.
Hiking and trails
On the easy circular path around the Plan d'eau, visitors can admire works of art, including a white rhinoceros.
The Sentier Moûtiers-Hautecour is a difficult 7.6-kilometre round-trip trail with a duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes; it leads from the Moûtiers Tourist Office to the Plan d'eau de Hautecour. The trail follows the Boilet stream to Hautecour la Basse, passes beneath the chapel and continues to the Plan d'eau du Breuil.
The Sentier Hautecour-Montgirod begins at the Plan d'eau de Hautecour, initially follows the same art trail and then continues towards Montgirod along the signposted Balcon des Adrets de Tarentaise route. This route passes through traditional hamlets and by a sundial, a church and an old oven.
Culture
The Sainte-Barbe Chapel stands in La Basse and was built in 1606 at the expense of André COLLOMB to protect against fires and thunderstorms. The Church of Saint-Étienne has a Romanesque bell tower dating from the 12th century. Also in La Basse is the partially vaulted, covered passage known as “la boueda”, which formerly provided the neighbouring property owners with sheltered access to their houses, barns, cellars and stables.
Leisure
The Plan d'eau de la Trappe has been developed as a leisure facility and offers volleyball, pétanque, tennis and football on site. Swimming is not permitted in the Plan d'eau de la Trappe. At Ferme du Pradier, visitors are introduced to the goats and the work carried out on the farm; this is followed by a tasting of homemade organic products.
