Nature

A marked 6-km circular trail from Selonnet town hall leads to La Grosse Pierre. This geological feature weighs more than 500 tonnes, is 5 meters high, and has a circumference of 30 meters. It is one of the eight sites of the Géoparc du Pays de Seyne.

Selonnet is home to a Natura 2000 site with several sensitive areas. The aim is to preserve biodiversity.

Trail n°12, “Tour de Tête Grosse,” is a moderately difficult 15.7-km circular route starting from Place de la Rotonde and crossing the Massif des Monges. The route includes 650 m of ascent and 650 m of descent and reaches a maximum elevation of 1,892 m. It passes through pastures and blueberry fields and offers views of the Blanche mountain range.

The VTT n°11 mountain biking route, “Les balcons de Chabanon,” is a family-friendly route on easy paths starting from the Chabanon resort. It heads toward the Monges chairlift as far as the Fontaine de Lacasse in the Chabanon fir forest and offers panoramic views of the Blanche Valley.

Le Château is a summit in the vicinity of Selonnet. The surrounding area also includes Sommet de Tête Grosse, La Montagne, and Clot de Bouc, each of which is a summit.

Leisure

The Piscine de Chabanon-Selonnet is a heated outdoor pool in a natural, wooded setting. Below the pool is a woodland mini-golf course with 12 holes.

Culture and History

The Tour Lesdiguières is a preserved remnant of the destroyed castle of the Connétable de Lesdiguières and now serves as the bell tower of Selonnet church. It has been listed as a Monument historique since November 9, 1984.

The Chapelle de Notre Dame des Champs was built in 1902 by the inhabitants of the hamlet of Champsaurs and restored in 2004.

Fort de Dormillouse is a fort in the vicinity of Selonnet.
