Culture

The Musée du textile et du peigne en corne is located in the Dumons factory, one of Lavelanet’s first textile factories, dating from the 1800s. The museum presents the production stages and techniques used to make horn combs and fabrics. The visit combines a self-guided section with a guided tour, complemented by videos and demonstrations.

The town’s architectural history includes the Romanesque Chapelle Saint Sernin de Bensa, with its semicircular-vaulted apse dating from the 12th century and its 15th-century buttresses. The Église Notre Dame de l’Assomption was built in the 12th century, destroyed and rebuilt in the 17th century, and is Gothic in style.

Trails

A trail leads to the Oratoire de Sainte-Ruffine; the round trip takes about one hour. From the Oratoire de Sainte-Ruffine, you can enjoy a view of Lavelanet and the peaks of the Tabe Massif.
