The bike park at Fort des Rousses has four permanent, signposted trails ranging from green to black in difficulty. For walks through the landscape, the Sentier de la tourbière du lac des Rousses is available: the easy trail is 1.9 km long, takes one hour, and crosses the marshland on a wooden boardwalk.

Nature

Le Tour des Douves is a very easy, 2.8 km-long interpretive hiking trail that takes about an hour. It runs along the northern side of the moat of Fort des Rousses to the Porte de France. At the Porte de Suisse, the trail provides access to the interior of Fort des Rousses and its Comté aging cellars. At Plage des Rousses, swimming is possible under supervision in July and August.

Culture

Fort des Rousses was converted into Comté aging cellars in 1998. The Musée du Ski et de la Tradition Rousselande displays a remarkable collection of French skis and bobsleds. By reservation, the museum offers guided tours lasting 1 to 1.5 hours.

Geographical setting

Several peaks are located around Les Rousses: Crêt des Danses, Pointe de Poêle Chaud, and Petit Montrond. La Dôle is a mountain in the vicinity of Les Rousses.
