The cadastral area of Velké Tresné is home to the Nyklovický potok natural monument, which covers 11.74 ha. The surrounding area includes Kočíko Hill, Librův Kopec Hill, Kuliška Hill and Babylon Hill.
Nature
In 1995, the municipality of Velké Tresné was incorporated into the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park. The nature park was established to protect the character of the landscape and preserve its natural and cultural values.
Hiking
The 15 km spring excursion “Snowdrops at Nyklovický potok” follows a red-marked hiking trail from Rovečné to Velké Tresné.
The “Around Rovečné via Malé and Velké Tresné” hiking route is an 8.5 km circular trail. It passes the remains of a former graphite mine, then descends to Velké Tresné and reaches the village at the Na Petrově inn.
Cycling
The “Forgotten World of the Svratka Highlands” cycling route starts in Velké Tresné and leads through deep forests back to Tresné.
Culture and History
The museum and gallery of the municipality of Velké Tresné are housed in the local fire station.
In 1854, a graphite deposit up to 14 metres thick was discovered in limestone near Velké Tresné.
