Horní Poříčí lies in the valley of the Křetínka stream. The municipality comprises meadows, arable land and predominantly coniferous forest; roe deer, fallow deer and wild boar can be found in the surrounding area. The mountains of Kuliška, Kočíko, Drašarov and Librův Kopec are also located nearby.

Connections and routes

Bus connections run from Horní Poříčí towards Polička, Svitavy, Brno, Boskovice and Letovice. In Letovice, there are connecting train services towards Brno and Česká Třebová.

A marked hiking trail passes through Horní Poříčí. Marked cycle route 5160 also runs through Horní Poříčí between Prostřední Poříčí and Bohuňov.

Chapels and history

The Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows is located in Horní Poříčí u Letovic. The Chapel of St Mary Magdalene is a brick building with a rectangular floor plan and a three-sided termination.

The origins of Poříčí are probably connected with the so-called Trstenice Land Route.
