Prostřední Poříčí: Hotels and Accommodation

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Prostřední Poříčí is a single-nave building with a rectangular ground plan and a semicircular-ended presbytery. It dates from 1891–1892 and is an immovable cultural monument.

Culture and History

House No. 9 in Prostřední Poříčí was formerly a mill and sawmill with a millrace. During renovations, it was discovered that the farmstead No. 8, known as Zemanka, also had a defensive character.

Local History and Nature

The marlstone quarries in Prostřední Poříčí were used by former residents to build houses. Imprints of fossilized sea animals can be found in the quarried marlstone.

Community Life

The Volunteer Fire Brigade of Prostřední Poříčí organizes the felling of the maypole every year. In recent years, the municipality of Prostřední Poříčí, the Volunteer Fire Brigade, and Jednota Boskovice have jointly organized a traditional St. Nicholas celebration for children.
