Nove Hute: Hotels and Accommodations
The Nové Hutě ski area has the 1,050-meter-long Tatrapoma Nové Hutě ski lift. The ski area is suitable for families with children as well as beginners and slightly advanced skiers.
Winter
Fifty meters from the lift’s mountain station runs the regularly groomed cross-country skiing route Staré Hutě–Přilba–Zlatá Studna–Zadov–Pláně. From Nové Hutě, cross-country ski trails also lead toward Pláně, Zadov and Zlatá studna.
Nature
Nové Hutě is located in the Šumava Protected Landscape Area on the border of Šumava National Park. Pasecká slať is a natural habitat of the black grouse.
Practical Information
The municipal car park has spaces for passenger cars weighing up to 3.5 tonnes and for buses; parking costs 100 Kč per day in each case.
Culture
The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Nové Hutě dates from 1895 to 1901 and is the second-highest church in the Czech Republic.
The local glassworks was later renamed Mayerova, operated for the longest time in the entire village and closed in 1876. A glassworks was established in Studený Potok in 1825—as the last glassworks in the area. The Frauenau Museum, a glass museum, is located in the wider regional surroundings of Nové Hutě.
