Nature and Wildlife Observation
The Kvilda Visitor Centre features exhibitions about the lives of European red deer and other deer species in the Šumava region. The Jelení stezka starts directly there and is a 2.6 km circular trail. It runs partly through the deer enclosure and has three observation towers.
Raised Bog and Trails
Jezerní slať is a raised bog on the plateau of the Šumava plains, three kilometres from Kvilda. The circular trail around Jezerní slať leads from Kvilda via a new cycle path for tourists; the centre of the bog can be reached via a wooden walkway. There, information panels explain how the raised bog formed and, in part, describe its present-day flora and fauna.
At the Bezlesí educational trail, diverse and often rare plants grow where small fields and meadows once lay.
Landscape
The mountains Vysoký stolec, Holý vrch, Sokol (Antýgl) and Stráž are located in the vicinity of Kvilda.
