Culture and history

The Church of Saint Catherine in Vítějeves is originally Gothic and dates back to the 14th century. Its presbytery, featuring rare frescoes from this period, has been preserved. Around 1912, the church was rebuilt into its present-day pseudo-Gothic form.

The wider region around Vítějeves is home to several smaller sacred buildings: the Chapel of the Virgin Mary is a church, as are the Chapel of the Sacred Heart, the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes and the Chapel of Saint Anne. All four are located in the wider region around Vítějeves.

Natural areas

The Údolí Křetínky Nature Park lies within the cadastral area of Vítějeves. It was established in 1996 to protect the character of the landscape, with its significant aesthetic and natural values; it covers 5,570 ha and extends partly across the cadastral area of Vítějeves. It protects the preserved, diverse mosaic of fields, meadow and forest communities, as well as human settlements.

The mountains of Drašarov, Kočíko, Librův Kopec and Kuliška lie in the vicinity of Vítějeves.

Winter, trails and activities

The landscape surrounding Vítějeves offers interesting routes for summer and winter tourism. Guests may use the tennis courts in Vítějeves with admission paid in advance.

Cycle route No. 104/I runs from Městečko Trnávka via Křenov and Brněnec to Svojanov Castle and includes a junction in Vítějeves. It is described as a moderately difficult to challenging road route for racing bikes and trekking bikes.

Practical information

On weekdays, the Vítějeves Municipal Office sells postcards of the municipality and a tourist map of the Údolí Křetínky Nature Park.
