Accommodation in Großhammer
Großhammer lies on the southeastern edge of the Jizera Mountains. The Kamenice River flows through Velké Hamry. The 787-metre-high Muchov has been developed as a natural lookout point and offers views of the Jizera Mountains, the Krkonoše Mountains, the Ještěd Ridge and the Bohemian Paradise.

Landscape and Trails
The distinctive rocks of Muchov consist of two-mica granite, known as Tanvald granite. From Svárov, a footpath leads through Parýz and along the valley by the Ješkrabec stream to Rejdice.
A footpath from Velké Hamry to Tanvald avoids the heavy road traffic either via Popelnice or through the forest above the railway line via Marjánka. The Terezínka rock viewpoint can be reached from the Kamenice Valley; 55 steps lead to it, and it offers views of the ridges of the Jizera Mountains.
Culture and History
The Pietà in Mezivodí is a late Baroque niche chapel in Velké Hamry II, at the turn-off from the main road to Muchov. It is considered an artistically and culturally valuable monument of a folk character and is listed in the central register of immovable cultural monuments. The life-size Pietà ensemble in Mezivodí stands among chestnut trees opposite the factory.
The Chapel of St Wenceslas in Velké Hamry II is one of the preserved historical monuments of Velké Hamry. It is a late Baroque niche chapel from the 18th century at the turn-off from the main road to Muchov.
The Svárov Strike Monument commemorates the textile workers' strike of 1870 and was erected in 1963. The Svárov Strike Monument in Velké Hamry is protected as a cultural monument. The former names Hamersko, Dolení Hamr and Hoření Hamr derive from iron hammers that probably stood there in the 13th and 14th centuries.
Construction of the spinning mill in Mezivodí, formerly Liebigovy závody, began in 1907; operations began in 1908, and the building retains its original appearance.
Museum and Sacred Sites
The Energy Museum is located on the premises of the Miček joinery at Bohdalovice 79, Velké Hamry–Mezivodí. It displays a Francis boiler turbine with a generator from 1907, a model of a biogas plant, as well as various turbines and generators shown in cutaway form. The museum offers practical demonstrations of renewable energy generation and educational programmes for schools.
Christmas and Easter Masses are held annually in the Chapel of St Anne; on 5 July, a Mass is celebrated in remembrance of Jan Hus, and a children's choir also gives an annual Christmas concert. Masses are regularly celebrated in St Wenceslas Church.
Near the square stands a two-storey corner residential building with an L-shaped floor plan and gabled roofs. It has a shallow, tower-like two-storey oriel on volute brackets with a metal onion dome.
