Culture and History
The present appearance of Štiřín Chateau dates back to Baroque and Neo-Baroque alterations. Between 1892 and 1910, the chateau was restored and remodelled according to designs by the architect Jiří Stibral; the north wing and entrance area were rebuilt, and electric lighting was installed. The grounds of Štiřín Chateau are protected as an immovable cultural monument.
Park, Springs and Landscape
The chateau park in Štiřín is an important work of landscape and garden art. The chateau landscape of Štiřín is structured by sightlines and views towards the chateau and from the chateau onto composed landscape scenes.
The Štiřínské studánky comprise a large cascade of ponds as well as several springs and fountains in the spring area of the nearby Pod stodůlkou forest. The Štiřínské studánky can be reached via a forest path along the western edge of Štiřínský rybník. In the past, they supplied Štiřín Chateau and the former chateau brewery with water. The golf course in Štiřín is closed.
