Landscape and Trails
A monument with a lookout tower was erected at Křížka in 1931. The Mandava lookout tower is approximately 12 metres high, and 44 steps lead to the viewing platform. The Mandava memorial on Křížka Hill commemorates a large public assembly held there on 29 September 1419; it is accessible on foot and by bicycle and is suitable as a short stop during a hiking or cycling trip.
A blue-marked hiking trail passes through Sulice. The western section of the route from Sulice to Kostelec u Křížků is fully functional and maintained as both a hiking trail and cycle path; a newer parallel footpath runs along the same route.
History and Culture
Hradiště consists of heavily damaged earthwork remnants of a fortified site that was the seat of minor landed nobility from the 13th to the 15th century. The remains lie southeast of the village of Sulice between two ponds. The Hradiště site has a rectangular shape; the former moat is now shallow and is preserved mainly on the southern and western sides.
The Sulice fortress was first mentioned in 1386.
