Vallejera De Riofrío: Trails, Townscape and History

Most of the houses in Vallejera de Riofrío are built of stone, which provides insulation against cold and heat. At the foot of the church stands a stone fountain built in 1939.

The municipal washhouse in the town centre dates from the 19th century. In the past, it was a meeting place where local residents washed clothes and exchanged stories from the village.

Festivals

The patronal festivals in honour of San Roque and Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación take place in mid-August. The Fiestas del Cristo de Vallejera take place on the second weekend in May.
