Winter and cross-country skiing

The Mlynky–Biele Vody ski area has a prepared ski slope and also offers night skiing. In Mlynky’s cross-country skiing network, the longest route is a 10 km loop around Kráľova hora. Cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions take place on Mlynky’s cross-country trails every year. This means that both alpine winter sports and cross-country skiing are represented, with a specifically named loop and a recurring annual competition framework.

Nature

Along its western edge, the cadastral area of Mlynky extends into Slovenský raj National Park. Most of the Mlynky area belongs to the buffer zone of Slovenský raj National Park. In addition, the Biele Vody district borders the Zejmarská roklina National Nature Reserve to the northwest. The three geographical relationships concern different areas: the western edge of the cadastral area, most of the municipal area, and the northwestern connection of Biele Vody.

Trails and connections

For cyclists, the Hnilecká cyklomagistrála runs through Mlynky and connects Dedinky with Margecany; it is 69.0 km long. The marked hiking trail 2825 leads from Dedinky via Mlynky, Prostredný Hámor and Havrania Dolina to Zadný Hýľ and is 8.2 km long in total. A shorter route runs from Mlynky to Havrania Dolina: it is 1.0 km long, has an elevation difference of 20 m and takes approximately 30 minutes. The Protestant church in Mlynky is a late Baroque building dating from the end of the 18th century.
