Peio Terme: Thermal Baths, Slopes and Trails

Terme di Pejo and winter access

Terme di Pejo uses three main mineral springs: Antica Fonte, Nuova Fonte and Fonte Alpina. The Terme di Pejo complex includes an indoor pool and a wellness area with a Turkish bath, saunas and whirlpools.

The Tarlenta cable car station, located near the thermal baths, provides access to the ski slopes in winter and to numerous trekking and hiking trails in summer. For various winter activities, Noleggio Sci Pejo3000 in the centre of Peio Terme offers equipment for alpine skiing, snowboarding, freeriding, ski mountaineering and snowshoeing.

Slopes and trails in the mountain area

The Val della Mite slope is an eight-kilometre ski and snowboard run that descends from an altitude of 3,000 metres to Peio Fonti. Peio Fonti is both the destination of this descent and the starting point for the walking trail to Malga Palù and the Anello Lago Pian Palù loop trail.

The very easy walking trail from Peio Fonti to Peio Paese leads to the wildlife area of Stelvio National Park. Peio Paese lies at an altitude of 1,579 metres. From Peio Paese, the trail to the wildlife area is accessible with a pushchair only in some sections.

The easy walking trail to Malga Palù begins at Fontanino in Peio Fonti and follows Trail 110 along the lakeshore to the mountain hut. The Peio Fonti–Malga Val Comasine route offers panoramic views and runs above Peio Fonti through the wooded slopes of Val del Monte.

The Anello Lago Pian Palù loop trail begins at Malga Frattasecca in Peio Fonti, runs entirely through Stelvio National Park and leads to Lago di Pian Palù.

Nature, history and local activities

Casa dei Cervi in the Runcal wildlife area uses pictures and explanatory panels to provide information about the characteristics and habits of the species living in the Runcal wildlife area.

In the vicinity of Peio Terme, the Museo di Pejo focuses on the high-altitude military events of the First World War, known as the White War.
