Culture and historic sites in and around Tesimo
Fahlburg Castle is considered one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles in South Tyrol. A Renaissance castle is a building from the Renaissance period. The parish church of Santa Maria Assunta in Tesimo is of Romanesque origin and was first mentioned in 1194. Romanesque origin refers to a medieval period of construction. The parish church of Santa Maria Assunta in Tesimo features stained-glass windows from the Augsburg School dating from around 1520. Stained-glass windows are coloured glass artworks.

Hiking trails and viewpoints above Tesimo
The “Tisner Gall” circular trail starts at the parish church of Tesimo and follows Trail No. 13 past Zwingenburg Castle in the direction of Caprile. If you are looking for a very easy hike, the “Sentiero panoramico circolare” circular trail is explicitly described as very easy. The hike runs above Tesimo and offers beautiful viewpoints of Monte di Mezzo di Tesimo.

Tesimo-Prissiano is situated on a sunny high plateau above the Adige Valley and is surrounded by vineyards, fruit trees and chestnut trees. The autochthonous South Tyrolean grape variety Versoaln is over 360 years old and extends at the foot of the manor house across 300 m² beneath a traditional pergola made of chestnut wood. A pergola is an open structure over which plants can spread.

The KESCHTNRIGGL Chestnut Days in Tesimo-Prissiano introduce visitors to the region’s chestnut culture and its traditions. Guests staying at participating accommodation establishments in the Tesimo-Prissiano holiday area receive the Alto Adige Guest Pass free of charge. This allows them to use public transport throughout South Tyrol free of charge.
