Burgstall: Castle Ruins, Parish Church and Trails

The walking trail with an exercise course is named after Count Volkmar of Burgstall and runs along the mountain slope. The approximate length of this mountain-slope trail can be taken into account in advance for planning the day, based on your own walking pace and breaks. Along the route near Burgstall Castle, there are several stations for exercising and staying active. These stations provide individual points for activity breaks. The trail is approximately 4 km long; this approximate length can serve as a guideline when planning the day, without requiring an exact route measurement. When planning the time needed for the walk, the approximate length should therefore be treated as a guide rather than a minute-by-minute requirement.

Burgstall Parish Church

Burgstall Parish Church was built at the beginning of the 19th century on the foundations of a medieval church in the Neo-Romanesque style. The tower and choir date back to around 1500. The parish church also contains an Adoration of the Magi painting dated 1541 by Barlmä Dill Riemenschneider, the son of the famous woodcarver.

Cable Car to Vöran

The Burgstall–Vöran cable car takes five minutes to reach Vöran from Burgstall. For an excursion, the change of location by cable car can be planned as a five-minute section. The Burgstall Höfeweg trail passes the Wieslerhof and Kofler farm taverns. Wieslerhof is closed from May until the end of September. This closure period should be taken into account when planning the trail.
