Acht: Hotels and Accommodation

In the village center of Acht, the restored St. Hubertus Chapel is centrally located at the corner of Hauptstraße and Am Kirchweg. The village lies in the valley of the Achterbach. This stream is considered to be the one that gave Acht its name.

Culture

St. Hubertus is the local patron and principal saint of Acht’s small village chapel. The present-day St. Hubertus Chapel was built in 1826. Surviving features include statues, among them a depiction of Saint Hubertus as a bishop, as well as two bells from the former chapel.

A wayside cross dating from 1631 is listed as part of Acht’s cultural heritage. Thus, the local tradition includes both the chapel with its surviving furnishings and a historic roadside landmark.

Nature

The location in the Achterbach valley and the stream that gave the village its name form the geographical setting of the place. The Achterbach is explicitly identified as the stream that gave Acht its name.

Hiking

The Wanderather-Weg includes the Welschenbach–Acht section. HausAcht is available to hiking groups and can accommodate up to 35 guests. It has ten parking spaces for cars, including space for a coach.
