It features 13 activity stations for sensory exploration, movement and meditation, inviting visitors to take an active part in a playful way. For travel by car, the directions specify the B16 and the Stötten am Auerberg exit; the road directions and the starting point at Kirchplatz serve different purposes for finding your way.
Stötten am Auerberg, together with ten other municipalities, published the “Erlebniswege Auerbergland” cycling and hiking map. It includes cycling and hiking routes in the region, as well as attractions along the way. Parish church and art history
The parish church of St. Peter and Paul is a listed historic building showcasing art from many centuries. It was enlarged in 1780 and decorated with a large ceiling fresco by Joseph Keller of Pfronten; stylistically, the fresco marks a transition from Rococo to Neoclassicism. The altar is adorned with a Calvary group dating from 1525. Two clearly distinguishable dates stand out in the church’s history: the Calvary group and the later enlargement with its fresco. For those interested in culture, the church offers a different focus from the moorland and hiking trails.
A local legend
Nearby is the Bodenloser See, between Stötten am Auerberg and Steinbach, on the south side of the Auerberg. A local legend tells of a monster guarding a huge treasure deep beneath the water.
