Winter Trails and Nature in Seeg

Cross-country ski trails and cleared winter hiking trails offer different ways to enjoy the outdoors: the ski trails are designed for cross-country skiing, while the cleared paths are for winter hikes. The activity that shapes your day depends on your plans. Before setting out, check the current snow and trail conditions.

The Moor and Lakes Loop passes through the moorland landscape, across green meadows, through forests and by the Seeg lakes. Below St. Ulrich Church in Seeg, hikers can use a telescope to observe the birdlife on the lakes. This combines the scenery with a specific reason to pause along the way and watch the birds.

There are also cycling options in and around Seeg, including cycling, e-biking, mountain biking, road cycling and longer cycle touring routes. For planning, it is worth first deciding on your preferred style of riding and the type of outing you have in mind; individual routes may change.

Bee Experiences Around Seeg

The Seeg Experience Apiary offers guided tours about bees, honey, bee products and the work of beekeepers. The adjoining bee house is also included, where visitors can watch bees at work. The demonstrations and opportunities to observe the bees make the apiary a distinct activity, different from a hike or bike ride.

The Experience Apiary’s bee shop offers honey, propolis, royal jelly, bee venom and beeswax to sample and buy. Visitors can also watch beekeepers at work and extract honey themselves at the Experience Apiary. The bee house and bee garden are directly behind the building and can be reached via a short outdoor path of about 50 metres.

The Bee Experience Trail follows twelve stations through the town centre. The bee trail passes flowering gardens, fruit meadows and a pond, as well as various play stations around Seeg. This lets you combine a walk through the town with stops focused on bees and their environment.

Rococo Church and Local History

St. Ulrich in Seeg is one of Bavaria’s most significant Rococo churches. Those interested in the town’s history can explore topics at the local history museum, including crafts that have died out, the development of dairy farming and beekeeping in the days of our grandfathers. The church and museum offer a different way to discover Seeg from its landscape trails and apiary experiences.

Plan Your Routes and Journey

The Allgäu Scenic Viewpoints Route, about 120 kilometres long, starts and ends in Seeg. Its first stage begins on Ladestraße, right by Seeg railway station. Knowing the starting point and approximate total distance can help you plan your tour; check the current route before setting off.

Bus routes 56 and 60 serve Seeg. Since timetables are operational details, it is a good idea to check the current services before travelling. When choosing accommodation, you can also consider whether you want to devote your days mainly to winter trails, bee experiences, local history or cycling opportunities in the region. This way, planning starts with the programme you want, without treating individual activities as interchangeable.
