Burgberg and Kahlenberg are located in the vicinity of Fischen im Allgäu. Rubihorn and Sonthofner Hörnle are also located in the surrounding area. Auwaldsee lake is another of the natural attractions described for the area: it is considered suitable for walking in summer and winter as well as for fishing. A circular trail approximately one kilometre long leads around the lake.

Features of Auwaldsee include views across the lake towards the Oberstdorf mountains, as well as viewpoints and seating areas around the lake. The lake is also considered a body of water with abundant fish stocks and a breeding ground for wild birds.

Culture

The ruins of Hugofels are located in the surrounding area of Fischen im Allgäu. In the wider region are the parish church of Schröcken, the parish church of Au and the parish church of Bizau.

The history of the area is also documented from an early period: a deed of exchange from the year 906 mentions Fischen under the name “Fiskinga”.
