Culture and History
The “Eglise et Mairie” landmark includes a church with paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries. It also includes a wedding hall in the town hall, furnished with panoramic wallpapers from the early 18th century. The landmark can only be visited by appointment.
The Caveau des Augustins is located in vaulted rooms beneath the town hall of Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny. In the 14th century, the rooms were the church of an Augustinian monastery. The Caveau des Augustins contains tombstones of the lords of Miolans, Montmayeur and Lescheraines; it is also open for exhibitions featuring paintings and sculptures.
The Orgue de Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny was built in 2010 by the Belgian organ manufacturer Thomas in the Thuringian style. Concerts and master classes are occasionally held throughout the year in connection with the Orgue de Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny.
Paths and Landscape
The approximately 30-kilometre-long Chemin des Vignes passes through Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny as well as vineyards and villages. The route combines a path through vineyards with the tasting of Savoie wines. The SNCF railway station of Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny can be used to return to the starting point of the Chemin des Vignes.
The Sentier d'accès au GRP® Tour des Bauges depuis Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny starts at the railway station of Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny, passes through the town and then reaches the trails of the Bauges. Marked circular routes lead from the vineyards of the Combe de Savoie to the summit of the Arclusaz.
Five marked mountain-bike routes start at the Carouge leisure complex.
Nature and Surroundings
Lac de Carouge is a former gravel pit that has been converted into an almost 10-hectare leisure complex. Supervised swimming is available at Lac de Carouge during the summer season.
The eastern part of Lac de Carouge is designated as a Natura 2000 site and is described as rich in biodiversity.
