The route via the Plan des Cavalles runs along a high-altitude panoramic terrace suspended below the Pic de l’Étendard and passes streams and lakes, including La Jasse, Balme Rousse, and Fare.

The Via Ferrata de la Cascade de La Fare consists of several sections that can be climbed separately. It is suitable for beginners aged 14 and over as well as experienced climbers. The access route from the car park in La Villette to the via ferrata takes 40 minutes and includes an elevation gain of 118 metres. “Le chant de la cascade de la Fare” is a themed hiking trail that begins in Vaujany.
Family-friendly and more physically demanding cycling routes begin in Vaujany and allow visitors to explore the Massif des Grandes Rousses. The Espace Nature et Loisirs du Collet offers water games and large slides. The Pumptrack de Vaujany has several courses with different levels of difficulty; its modules can be used with kick scooters, skateboards, and bicycles.
Culture and History
The Musée EDF Hydrélec opened in 1988 after construction work on the Grand'Maison hydroelectric facility had been completed. It explains this facility and displays equipment and machines used before the modernization of the various power stations. The museum extends over three floors and nearly 1,000 m² and covers the history of hydropower – from its early use to the construction of large dams. Since 1988, it has held the “Musée de France” designation awarded by the French Ministry of Culture and contains nearly 450 collection objects.
The Espace Musée de Vaujany is an immersive visitor centre dedicated to the local natural environment, historical heritage, and major local changes. It presents stories from village life in the past and former local occupations. The Espace Musée de Vaujany also includes a professional flight simulator, allowing visitors to learn how to pilot an aircraft during a virtual flight over Vaujany and its surroundings.
In the hamlet of La Villette, the Chapelle Saint-Antoine was first mentioned in 1488. The Four banal dates back to the period of feudal organization; bread is still traditionally baked in the Four banal de La Villette.
