Skiing

The Auris-en-Oisans ski area offers 19 varied ski runs and has 12 ski lifts. The green Jacques le Bûcheron ski run is a themed course with attractions, colorful modules, unusual settings, and sculptures.

Nature

The Forêt de Piégut is a 46-hectare Natura 2000 high-altitude spruce forest on the edge of the resort. The Piégut forest is used for hiking in every season.

Traditional pastoral farming in Auris-en-Oisans includes bringing more than 2,000 sheep from the plain of La Crau to graze around Montagne de l’Homme every summer from May to September.

Hiking

Auris offers half-day guided mountain excursions introducing visitors to the heritage, fauna, and flora of Auris and Écrins National Park. The Sentier du Bucheron, also known as the Chemin du Milieu, is an ethnobotanical trail through the Piégut forest; an educational booklet can be borrowed from the tourist office.

The Belvédère de St Géraud can be reached on foot from the resort in 20 minutes and from the hamlet of Cluy in 10 minutes, offering views of the glaciers.

Culture

The Chapelle Saint-Géraud was built in the 7th century. The Parcours d’orientation patrimoine: les Hameaux d’Auris offers a fun and sporty way to discover part of Auris’s local heritage.

Auris’s summer bike park can be reached via the Sûres lift.
