Nature
The “Le bord de la Dranse” trail leads through the forest alongside the water. There, the Dranse forms broad meanders, and access is very easy.
Culture
The Église de l’Immaculée Conception de La Baume, the Church of Notre-Dame de l’Immaculée Conception, is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception and was built in the 19th century. It has an organ dating from 1872 that is listed as a historic monument. Independent, self-guided visits are available on request.
There is a chapel in the hamlet of Le Promerat. The “Circuit patrimoine de La Baume” cultural trail leads to the village’s religious heritage sites: the church, the chapel of Le Promerat, several wayside crosses and shrines, and the Notre-Dame de Lourdes Grotto. It begins at the cemetery car park near the grotto.
Beyond the village centre, the Notre-Dame de Lourdes Grotto, carved into the rock, stands beside the road to La Goutreuse.
Hiking routes
The “Balade au Nant de la Scie” is an easy 2.0 km circular hike with a walking time of approximately 30 minutes and 71 metres of ascent and descent. Along the way, it crosses the Nant de la Scie twice before reaching the hamlet of La Goutreuse.
The “Randonnée pédestre: de hameaux en villages” hiking route passes through La Baume.
