Les Contamines-Montjoie has dedicated winter sports infrastructure: the Piste de ski-roues is a 2.5-kilometre-long, 4-metre-wide asphalt track in the year-round Nordic area. Hiking

Les Contamines-Montjoie is a stopover or stage location on the Tour du Mont-Blanc and offers various hiking options on this famous GR trail. The Tour du Val Montjoie is a five-day trek between Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc and Les Contamines-Montjoie. The Tour du Mont-Blanc variants include 15 stages, with walking times ranging from 3 hours 30 minutes to 7 hours 30 minutes, and pass through landscapes that are sometimes little known.

The historic hike “Vers la Frasse, un P’tou Joly tour” leads from the village square to the hamlet of La Frasse, offers panoramic views of Mont Joly, and returns to the village via P’Tou and the Sainte-Trinité parish church.

Nature

Since 1979, the Réserve naturelle des Contamines-Montjoie nature reserve has been located exclusively within the municipality of Les Contamines-Montjoie. Espace Nature au Sommet provides information about this nature reserve and offers weekly exhibitions, films, debates, and events.

Culture

The Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Gorge was listed as a historic monument by decree of 22 June 2015. The Sainte-Trinité Church in Les Contamines-Montjoie is a Savoyard Baroque church dating from 1759. Its square bell tower is based on a tower of the former Château de Montjoie, which monitored access to the Col du Bonhomme.

The Sentier de découverte follows the Bon Nant and includes 16 illustrated stations presenting the natural and cultural heritage of Les Contamines-Montjoie. A pilgrimage takes place every year at Notre-Dame de la Gorge on 15 August.

Lac de Baignade du Pontet has a supervised bathing area covering 3,800 m². Parc de loisirs du Pontet comprises 30 hectares of leisure and recreation space with more than 20 activities for the whole family.
