Nature and trails

Lus-la-Croix-Haute offers 160 kilometres of varied hiking trails. There are also 250 kilometres of signposted circular routes of all difficulty levels within the municipality.

The Sentier des hameaux leads to the agricultural buildings of five hamlets with babbling fountains. The buildings along the route have steep roofs so that snow can slide off.

At the car park du Maujas in La Jarjatte, 26620 Lus-la-Croix-Haute, you will find the Espace Sport Orientation in the Vallon de la Jarjatte. This landscaped natural area offers three orienteering courses and 30 orienteering controls.

Culture and history

The Chapelle de La Jarjatte was built between 16 August 1729 and 16 April 1739. At Montagne de la Toussière, the Ancienne commanderie des Templiers is protected as a historic monument; it was listed on 26 April 2005.

The Maison du Patrimoine presents exhibitions on Lus's local heritage. These include an exhibition about the Lussoise forest in the past, present and future. The Maison du Patrimoine also provides information about the former presence of the Templars in Toussièrette.
