Pré de Madame Carle is the gateway to Écrins National Park and the starting point for hikes on foot in summer as well as skiing excursions in spring. A shuttle operated by 05 Voyageurs connects L’Argentière, Puy-Saint-Vincent, Ailefroide, and Pré de Madame Carle.

Mountains

The Refuge du Pelvoux is located at an altitude of 2,704 meters on a rocky outcrop, about a 3.5-hour walk from Ailefroide, and is also the starting point for mountaineering routes. The Chalet-Refuge du Pré de Madame Carle is located above the hamlet of Ailefroide at the foot of Mont Pelvoux and the Écrins.

Culture

The Randoland trail in Pelvoux allows families to explore the village with puzzles for children aged 3 to 12.

The Saint-Pancrace Chapel in Le Poët dates back to the 17th century. In Les Claux, the Sainte-Barbe Chapel features a restored sundial dating from 1792. In Pelvoux, the Saint-Antoine Church is located in the hamlet of Saint-Antoine; it has a sundial dating from 1810.
