Nature

Culture and history
There are numerous sundials in the hamlets and villages of the Château-Ville-Vieille municipality. Fort Queyras, a fort, is located in the immediate vicinity of Château-Ville-Vieille. It combines a 13th-century château with a Vauban fortification. There are two parking lots for Fort Queyras: one is located at the entrance to the village, on the right before the fort, and the other along the Guil.
The Armoire aux 8 Serrures was made in 1773 and contained the archives of the Queyras Valley. It is located on the first floor of the Maison communale in Ville-Vieille.
Since 1987, the Espace géologique in Château-Queyras presented the permanent exhibition “Les frissons de la terre” on the geology of the Queyras and the formation of the Alps; it is currently closed.
